\"\"For this spread, I was tasked to present Mesopotamian cylinder seals as an artifact. In doing so, was able to imitate the appearance of the seals with clay. I created various seals with different icons and symbols to show that each cylinder seal had its own story and identity. Demonstrating that these cylinder seals were normally worn as a bracelet, I placed one of the cylinder seals with string and beads. I thought that it was important to be able to show how the seals would have been used by rolling the seals on wet clay and presenting it on my spread. I laid everything on a bed of sand to visually represent the time period and to bring a sense of cohesiveness to the pages. One thing I could have worked on was to further develop the cohesive design by matching up the text on the two different pages. I initially chose to write out the title and subtitle in a hand lettered wedge-like form to represent the Cuneiform writing system, and thought that it would have been hard to read if I had carried the same idea onto the informational text.
