From Raymond William

“What can really be contributed is not resolution but perhaps, at times, just that extra edge of consciousness” (William1961, 12).

I chose this quotation from Raymond Williams’ book “Keywords: A Vocabulary of Culture & Society” because it highlights my beliefs of the importance of critical thinking when it comes to complicated societal and individual issues/problems. Occasionally it is challenging to properly comprehend and address complex difficulties. Instead of searching for easy solutions or quick fixes, it is vital to participate in thoughtful and detailed conversations that acknowledge the complexity of these issues. In some cases, raising people’s awareness of a problem rather than finding a solution is the most beneficial contribution. Just adding an “extra edge of consciousness”, will inspire a deeper understanding and solution to the matter at hand.
