She teaches writing and literature at Capilano University and from 2015\u201317 edited the literary and visual arts magazine <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thecapilanoreview.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Capilano Review<\/em><\/a> while overseeing its community programming. Andrea received her Ph.D. in English from Brown University in 2017 and has had criticism and poetry published in <em>World Picture<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Poetic Front<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Pelt<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Fence.<\/em> Her first book, <a href=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/andreaactis\/grey-all-over\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Grey All Over<\/em><\/a> (Brick Books, 2021), is an autoconceptual study of traumatic grief and anomalous experience and was longlisted for the 2022 ReLit Award.
