My name is Annika and I’m a design student in Cap U’s IDEA School of Design. I love coming up with ideas, and creating things which is why I’m studying design and illustration. What I think is super neat about design is that everyone needs it – we could end up designing for so many different organizations that make the world a better place and I think that’s a very exciting thing. I hope that I’ll be able to create things that have purpose and impact in the world.
Originally, I planned to never do anything artsy, but life has its own plan so here I am. I spent 3 years studying everything and anything at SFU and Langara but my heart finally found its way back to creativity. It was a confusing journey but I am super excited and grateful to be here.
In my free time I love to read wellness books and run, bike, hike and camp in nature. The wilderness is one of the great loves of my life and it keeps me sane and grounded. Beyond nature, one of the most influential forces in my life is my mum. I am basically a carbon copy of her. A lot of my personality and way of seeing the world comes from her.
