All About Me

My greatest goal in this life is to create things that last long after I’m gone. To tell stories that impact people in a positive way. To do that I hope to either enter the film industry in the next couple years or get into motion picture arts at Capilano University. Perhaps even both if I am lucky. It is exciting to think about the future, but I also can’t help but be grateful for the present. I recently moved to Vancouver, my dream city, from Kelowna to attend the Education and Employment Access program and I am so proud of these accomplishments. These things remind me that no matter how impossible reaching goals might feel, it never is in fact impossible and you may even surprise yourself. Kelowna will always be my home but I am very happy to finally feel like I’m creating my own little life. I have always felt a connection to Vancouver and it feels like a dream to finally live here. I’m so excited for new experiences and opportunities that are now accessible to me.

The most important thing to me is my family. I am convinced they would call in the army for me if I needed it. I would say that my siblings and I kind of share roles, but as the oldest I tend to be the advice giver which I love. And my mom thinks I’m quite funny, thanks mom. It’s not always easy having siblings, they really can test me, but I wouldn’t be me without them.

I was born and raised in Kelowna and personally I think it is a wonderful place to grow up. It has a little bit of everything. City, country, the beautiful lake. A great sense of community. I even have a trail named after me there, as do my sisters. A gift from my dad, a park ranger. I really love that little legacy.

When I am not at school, I like to spend time online with friends playing video games, watch stand-up comedy and horror movies. I also love cooking, spending time with my two cats and taking long walks in my neighborhood or visiting the ocean. I find that nothing is more calming and grounding than a walk or sitting by the water.
