Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist, popular in the early 20th century. His unique style was influenced by movements in art that included expressionism, cubism and surrealism, but couldn\u2019t really be classified as any of these! He usually interpreted art trends in his own way, of course as a typical artist, in isolation from his peers. He brought his own unique twist to everything and anything, which made him who he was and his art definitely reflected that. It was said that he had very dry humour and sometimes a very childlike perspective, which his work reflected. There were also themes of his personal moods, beliefs and musicality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his early years, Klee followed his parent\u2019s wishes of becoming a musician, but he switched it up and became an artist, not because he wasn\u2019t good, which in fact he was a very talented musician, but because the music didn\u2019t really connect with him the same way art did. He also partially became an artist out of rebellion against his parent\u2019s wishes, and good on him for that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I actually fell in love with Klee\u2019s style when I was very young. I had the fortunate opportunity of learning about him in middle school and got to create pieces inspired by his style. He was such a creative individual, and no piece of his is the same, which I love. I also enjoy that he didn\u2019t really fall under any particular category, but rather just did his own thing, which is extremely comforting to learn about because as a young artist, I have no idea what I\u2019m doing. He really showed me that it\u2019s okay to experiment and have fun with art, and if I could thank him, I would, but that will have to wait until time travel is invented!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
