On Monday, March 4, Maya and I sorted through the bags and boxes of clothing that we collected during our drive. We spent over an hour going through each item, assorting them according gender, function (casual or professional), and age (kids), and put aside any clothing for the textile recycling depot. We then put the clothes into separate bags according to which organization the clothes were going. After we were done, Maya went home with the bags for the textile recycling depot and the casual men’s clothes for Big Brother – I will be responsible for bringing the remaining clothes to Dress for Success, Working Gear, and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre. I will be doing these donation drop offs on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
