My home country is Russia<\/em><\/strong>, and my city is Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk<\/em><\/strong>. I was born there and lived there my whole life. Even my grandparents moved to Russia from Korea, I will always love my beautiful cold country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia is not only the largest country in the world.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is the main city on Sakhalin Island in the Far Eastern part of Russia. Since it is surrounded by water and a normal winter lasts about 6 months a year, and the average temperature exceeds minus 20 degrees, the main hobby of most Sakhalin residents is ice fishing.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not me but you can imagine how I felt.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I remember that once in my life I went ice fishing, and this was my first and last time. But now I know the secret and can tell you why Russian people like to drink vodka – because it\u2019s very, very cold to stand for hours with a fishing rod in my hand and just wait for the smelt<\/em><\/strong> to decide that he wants to be your dinner today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another winter hobby of Sakhalin residents is skiing<\/strong> and snowboarding<\/strong>. Right in the center of the city is the mountain resort Mountain Air, famous in the Far East, and people from nearby cities and even countries come here to ski and snowboard. I like to spend time on the mountain with friends and family. This is really cool!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
