It is actually not correct to use PAKA with unknown or elderly people. So please don’t forget about this when you are trying to demonstrate your Russian for some native speakers.

One more thing I want to mention is Russian spelling and pronunciation.

Do you know that in Russian most words have completely different ways of writing and pronounciation?

For example, our word PAKA consists of 4 sounds – P, A, K, A, but the spelling of the words is the letters P-O-K-A, in Russian, ПОКА.

Because of the difference between spelling and sounds, Russian students have to memorize many rules about how to spell words correctly. This part of the Russian language is called Spelling (Orthography), and it is very difficult to learn it even for native speakers.

But this story is not for us, because we can easily say “Bye” in Russian – PAKA and because I am sure you did it well, it’s time to say Bye-bye PAKA-PAKA to you!
