Bruce Mau is not only a terrific designer but an innovator, and educator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born on October 25, 1959 in Sudbury Ontario and studied at the\u00a0Ontario College of Art & Design<\/a>\u00a0in Toronto. Upon graduation he decided to leave the school to join the\u00a0Fifty Fingers<\/a>\u00a0design group in 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He remained part of the group for two years before going to the UK briefly for the Pentagram. Although he didn\u2019t stay for long he states he took away the idea of how \u201cdeisgn and culture converge around literacy, equity and society\u201d.\u00a0
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his return to Toronto, he became one of the founding members of Public Good Design and Communications ran by the triumvirate. Soon he found himself presented with the opportunity to design Zone 1\/2 books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project allowed Mau to take the leap and establishing Bruce Mau Design studio (BMD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mau\u2019s influence can be seen across the design landscape: from creative direction of I.D. magazine to identity and environmental graphics programs for Frank Gehry\u2019s Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Museum of Modern Art and the Seattle Public Library.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
