An ePortfolio is an electronic portfolio that has been created by (most often) a student and is usually on the web. This gives the student the opportunity to share their evidence of learning through a display of: text, files, multimedia, photography, blogs and hyperlinks. Giving the creator a chance to demonstrate their new found knowledge, their abilities and any self-expression they wish to show; all while being able to update, change and adapt the pages on an ongoing basis. Teachers can view the collection of the students’ work for marking and evaluating.
E-portfolios have many benefits, such as; it keeps a record of your learning process, therefore you have it for reflection years down the road. It shows in detail your achievements, so not only you have it to add to your other pursuits, but also, the world has it to learn and be inspired by. E-portfolios are excellent tools for a way of keeping organized, expand your critical thinking and of course – can help you find employment.
Creating an ePortfolio leads to a deeper and more meaningful way to understand yourself and your connection to your experience.
