About Me

I’ve always had a passion for adventure, new places, and experiencing new activities so I made my goal to have a career in the tourism industry. I am a tourism management student from Capilano University aspiring to achieve a career in the hotel industry. I am an experienced customer service lead with a demonstrated history of working in the restaurant industry. I am skilled in customer service, fast food, training, and teamwork. I’m also fluent in English and Tagalog and comfortable and confident at communicating with a wide range of people. Although I don’t have any experience in the hotel industry yet, I believe that my work experience shows that I’m loyal, a hard worker, adept in customer service would make me a good fit in the hotel industry. I believe that the tourism industry will just continue to thrive in the next decade in Vancouver and I’m eager to work and be a part of this industry.

As well as being a full-time student, I work as a crew member at McDonald’s in New Westminster. I’ve been working there for four years now and was employed back in May 2015. The main duties in my job are interacting with the customers and ensuring they enjoyed their experience with their meal and stay, no matter how small. Serving is an ideal job for me because it helps me in utilizing and practicing my skills for the future. Organization, customer management, time management, and working with others are skills I am good at, and working at McDonald’s had helped me better these skills. I have no particular hobbies but have a passion for traveling and exploring new places. I think everyone should get out of their comfort zones just to expand their views and thoughts of the world. I consider myself to be organized, outgoing, detail-oriented, and learning new skills.

After graduating, I hope to gain a career in the hotel and resort sector of the tourism industry. I enjoy the hard work and effort hotels put into making visitors feel comfortable when they are out on vacation and making new memories. I also enjoy interacting with people and helping them, so I think a career in resort management will combine my passion for traveling and helping people will be a perfect fit for me. I want a job where every day will be an adventure with the people I meet and the places I might go.
