My care package will be going to Elon Musk, entrepreneur and co-founder of spaceX. In his childhood Musk was bullied, quite a bit but that didn’t stop him from learning and teaching himself things that most kids his age wouldn’t have even slightly understood. For example his childhood readings consisted of Isaac Asimov’s “Foundation” series, which talks about how we can predict the future with mathematical calculations and how to prevent, get through, and rebuild after a dark age. Musk started his first company Zip2 in 1995 a web software company and sold it in February 1999 for $351 million and started up a few more companies until his 2003 company Tesla took off in 2013 which then allowed him to put more resources to his space company spaceX because he didn’t like the cost of ICBMs. The reason I am giving this care package to Musk is because he has a different approach to business models. It seems he cares less about money and tries to focus more on how he can better the human race through sustainability and expansion to other planets. The reason that got me to put this package together is that he cares for all people even those who bullied him extensively when he was a kid and most people would hate the world after that but he goes about his life like it didn’t happen and continues to try to improve our civilization including the people that hurt him. My choice matters because Elon Musk matters because, he could be the one to save the human race from ourselves. In my package there is an article about the risks about space colonization and I hope learns about these risks and keep them in mind when he’s pursuing his ultimate goal, the colonization of Mars. I hope my package doesn’t make him think differently I hope he stays on his current mindset and builds upon it. But I do hope it makes him feel like he’s making a difference and that he’s the type of person this planet needs.

The Great Gatsby follows millionaire Jay Gatsby as he tries to get back the girl he was with before he join the army but she had married which causes quite a problem. “Angry, and half in love with her, and tremendously sorry, I turned away.” this quote was from Nick, Gatsby’s friend, who also has problems of his own with this girl he met which gives us different smaller stories to follow. This book is just to be something to read for fun on his free time and don’t have any significant meaning other than a fun read.
This short film follows a mission two robots are on to find a suitable planet that can sustain life for people to live on. Along the way they don’t have much luck finding anything not to mention the meteors falling from the sky even further slowing them down. But at the last moment before they leave one of the robots loses its plant capsule that is used to test for habitability falls and is activated and tests green for a habitable area. This item is to give a sense of hope that they will find what they are looking for but there will be obstacles but if you just keep pressing forward eventually you will find what you are looking for.

This song was composed for the 1970 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and since then many other people and bands have made their own version of it like the version I picked from Maroon 5. Pure Imagination is the genre adult contemporary which is a genre made up of many genres from the 60’s to 70’s. “There is no Life, I know, To compare with pure imagination” these lines tell us that imagination is the strongest tool we possess as we can make up our own worlds. I hope this song will help him to relax and and concentrate better with the calming music.
This last item will be a rough idea of what the colony will look like after it is done and self sustaining and it would be a physical model because when you can look at something in the real world and not on a screen it’s so much more real and adds whole other level to the experience, it gives it that “WOW” factor. This model should be a motivation to keep moving forward to see what you have been working so hard on that it can be done.
