One thing that we as humans require from life is love. Whether it be parental, sexual, or in admiration. One way that we humans show this love, for ourselves and other, is to care. Caring is not always black and white, but more a spectrum which requires a different color for every issue. To many people caring is hard as to do so takes a lot of effort from every person involved. Care is talking to your child about safety, and how important school is to their future, even if that means punishing them for not meeting expectations. For a child putting effort into homework or their physical fitness to help establish a better life for themselves.
But while many things can show care, it s crucial to be wary of what gets in the way of caring. Humans are social beings and for the majority of us that means time out with friends. Some might say that spending such time is not caring about your life, but in truth every single person who does something, cares about something. Why would I spend my time out with friends? Because I care about the benefits of mental health that it provides for myself and my friends. Its not that we cant care about multiple things, but rather that the mind puts emphasis directly on what it wants.
But what really gets in the way of care is what other people care about conflicting with your care. A lot of what commonly conflicts with are is political opinions. We find it common for people with political opinions to care very much about them. If you care intensely about something it is often hard when someone reciprocates care equal to your own. It could discourage your care to be in such conflict that you start doubting your purpose for caring. But care is something that should mot be suppressed from any person, because people should have motivation from their life and caring is great.
If our world was to care about itself wouldn’t you find it is a better environment. If we all saw tragic events wouldn’t you want us as a global minded people to help. Also what if you were a victim, would you not be grateful for a team of people coming to your aid. It doesn’t take much to help people in need if many people come to their assistance. Instead we have some people unfortunately in positions of power that use a mass for their own benefits. . But if we all take care of our people and environment it can make any man, woman, or child into a Hero.
200 Revision: This semester I had many opportunities to read about how care fits in among-st all the things that try to hold conflict against it. But what most re-contextualized my view towards the subject of care came from watching the film Rhymes for Young Ghouls were we experience the severe cruelty and neglect of the native reservation land and people. It brought forth anger from within me as I new that those people did not have a care in the world towards the people they were punishing for the crime of to being there before them. It makes me sick to think that although in a different country my ancestors may have committed acts just like those we saw in the film. But what took my surprise is the unyielding spirit of those oppressed by such cruelty. The people did what they could for there own survival, makings ends meet working hours that no person would so willingly take, just to make even on what the world takes from them. In so many ways it was incredible to listen to the speakers and elders of the tribes we have read about remain so diligent in their culture that they conflicted the white governments trying to take it away from them. And why shouldn’t they? These aboriginal people come from a lineage with so much to share and learn from with pride spanning back a millennia. Which is why I am so saddened by the fact that many people, who are fed up with the disgraced lifestyle of reservation living that they are abandoning their culture to fit themselves into the “white” culture. So far so that languages are dying because no one wants to learn them or there is no chance to learn them. In 2012 Joke Schuit of the University of Central Lancashire referenced how there are roughly 40 people who remain in Canada to speak the Inuiuuk language. This point is that much more devastating as most of these cultures use verbal based epics as there main form of history. Care is a struggle but no solution can come of the struggle until all parties share the same care.
