Born in Austria in 19o8, Pineles was one of the first women to make a career as a successful art director within the design industry of New York. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a young age, Pineles took a shine to art and design, and won a scholarship to the Pratt Institute for her capabilities in art and design. Later in life she married William Golden and then Will Burtin after Golden&#8217;s death, and outlived both of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"795\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/jamiekusack\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9741\/2020\/01\/50_jean_patchett-theredlist-795x1024-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-211\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/jamiekusack\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9741\/2020\/01\/50_jean_patchett-theredlist-795x1024-1.jpg 795w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/jamiekusack\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9741\/2020\/01\/50_jean_patchett-theredlist-795x1024-1-233x300.jpg 233w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/jamiekusack\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9741\/2020\/01\/50_jean_patchett-theredlist-795x1024-1-768x989.jpg 768w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/jamiekusack\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9741\/2020\/01\/50_jean_patchett-theredlist-795x1024-1-75x96.jpg 75w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 795px) 100vw, 795px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pineles worked for many different magazines over the course of her life; <em>Vogue<\/em>, <em>Overseas Woman<\/em>, and was the art director for magazines like <em>Glamour<\/em>,<em> Seventeen<\/em>,<em> Charm<\/em> and <em>Mademoiselle<\/em>, some of which are still in circulation today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I personally love Cipe Pineles work. Her designs are sleek and simple and eye-catching, and I admire how she uses a single image to dominate a page rather than filling it.
