In the majority of his career, he chose to live most of life in the French countryside instead Paris. His love for nature and peasant life was also reflected in his some of paintings “The Boulevard Montmartre on a Winter Morning”<\/em> (1897), “The Mailcoach at Louveciennes<\/em>” (1870).<\/p>\n

His observation of nature really paid off! The way he rendered the loose dashed brush strokes with the\u00a0 harmonious colour combination in\u00a0\u00a0The Boulevard Montmartre on a Winter Morning”\u00a0<\/em>was remarkable. Although his approach was not realism, his landscape paintings really capture the experience of a tranquil lifestyle.<\/p>\n
