ME

Hello!! My name is Jyoti Devi, born on 1st February 1996. I belong to Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Growing up as a daughter of an Army man, I have learned that you don’t serve expecting return, you serve because it’s your duty to give back to society, to think beyond yourself and this idea has shaped my career perspectives.
I am a proud aspiring student of the Capilano University, North Vancouver, BC, Canada, currently pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in North American Business Management (Applied). I was born in Jammu, J&K, India. Nature has endowed Kashmir with implausible beauty and is rightly called “Paradise on Earth”. Jammu and Kashmir is a region administered by India as a Union Territory in the year 2019, after having a separate constitution from India since the year 1947. I was a senior Event Coordinator in the Event Management Industry for 6 years. If you take the time to scroll through my pages, you will see examples of my work, images of awards, and how I am involved in school. I would love to find a fulfilling career in the business world and am doing everything I can to reach that goal. MISSION STATEMENT
Currently, I define myself as a hard-working student, employee, and regular volunteer. I have one main belief that I like to remind myself of each day, and it is this “never stop trying to learn and grow.” Each day I work on developing and molding myself into the final product. I strive to find opportunities to make use of my natural talents and gifts such as acting responsibly, always being punctual, and being extremely mature. My goal in life is to become a successful Entrepreneur so I can provide for myself and my family. I enjoy a challenging environment that motivates me to do my best. I excel at prioritizing responsibilities and effectively completing tasks. I use my electronic portfolio to reflect on experiences in order to remember what I have learned and see where I am going.
One important thing that I’ve accomplished in my life is being the first female in my family to attend a university overseas. This is so important to me because it makes me and my family very proud.
ATTRIBUTES

I could best introduce myself as a ” Boss Girl”. I stick to my integrity and principles, I tackle the problems without losing my cool. I have successfully coordinated a team of 50 persons at a time for the Indian Premier League (Cricket). I have been the face for AUDI, MERCEDES BENZ, and BMW for 4 years in Pune. I take responsibility for my actions and present my opinions freely. I am a woman of my word.
My special skills include being the No. 1 Event Coordinator for two consecutive years in Pune, India.

“I like arts and crafts. I’m a creative/practical person, and like doing things with my hands.” “I’m also an outgoing person, and like socializing/ hanging out with friends.” “I enjoy being physically active, and spend a lot of time playing sports and team games.” On the weekends, I watch Netflix, I do cooking and dancing especially. I am a big fan of my dad, who has always been a role model to me and I am always keenly interested in listening to war stories from him.
FAMILY

I am the youngest child to my parents and they had given me everything they could to make me educate and shape my career. They taught me that as long as you live in accordance with your ideas and beliefs, you can hold your head high. My father who has been serving the Indian Army for the last 32 years has always shown keen interest in each and everything I do in building my career-goals. My mother is working in AWWA (Army Women Welfare Association), Pune for the last 10 years. I am proud of all those times when my mother had to fill in for my father because he was on duty. She has always motivated me to pursue my choice of career but with a true sense of responsibility. Also, I have one elder brother who is a Senior Front Officer in Hyatt hotel, Bangalore. This culture of my family has inspired me to ace in everything I do and be the best version of myself.
YEARS AHEAD

Being a successful Event Coordinator and having distinct achievements for the last 6 years, I endeavour to be a triumphant entrepreneur of Canada in the coming years, where I will be my own boss, would always work as a team, and will run my company by following proper ethics. I am determined to succeed in a career that I feel happy doing every day, so the NABU Applied program is a perfect choice for me, which will upgrade my knowledge and will enable me to fulfil my career goals of owning a business and serving my people. It would give me a wonderful chance to lay a very strong foundation for my career with a focus on diversity and multicultural concerns.
