Victor Moscoso is a Spanish graphic designer most known for his groovy psychedelic rock poster in the 1960s. He designed work for bands like Mick Jagger, The Doors, The Grateful Dead, and more! His work changed poster and merch design forever and I think set the tone for an entire decade, so if you haven\u2019t heard of him you\u2019ve still definitely seen his acid-trip-inducing creations. His work is even in large galleries like the MoMA. Moscoso is definitely one of my graphic design influences, particularly for poster design and typography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His poster style was fluid and bold using intense, vibrant colours contrasts. They typically have a central figure surrounded by warped text and\/ or lineart. Moscoso also commonly layers and inverts images, adjusting their opacity and brilliance to gain his desired effect.  A great example of this is the poster design for Mick Jagger and the one for the Doors, displaying all his recurring staples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moscoso’s work pulls from pop culture but also inspires it. One of my favorite Moscoso easter eggs in pop culture is t this poster (on the left) being referenced in the iconic \u201cAlmost Famous\u201d movie poster ( on the right) for the film that is set in the later 60-70 era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
