I am a Shíshálh woman from the Sechelt band. The Butterfly represents transformation, metamorphosis, beauty, balance, and grace. It is known that the butterfly is a companion as well as a spokesperson for the raven. I identify with the Butterfly because I feel that it took great strength and power to grow into the person I am today. The Butterfly started off as a caterpillar then blossomed to it’s full potential as a beautiful, elegant creature.

The Eagle is the ruler of the sky. It symbolizes wisdom, grace, and leadership. It is known to have a special connection with the creator.
