ABOUT ME

Hello, and welcome to my e-portfolio! My name is Manpreet Kaur, and I am a recent high school graduate with a passion for healthcare and nursing. I completed my grade 12 studies in the medical stream, with a focus on chemistry, biology, and physics.

Currently, I am pursuing a major in Biology at Capilano University in North Vancouver, Canada. My academic interests lie in the field of nursing, and my ultimate goal is to become a registered nurse. This is why I have chosen to focus my studies on biology, as I believe it will give me a strong foundation for a future career in healthcare.

My interest in nursing began when I was a child, and my grandmother became ill. She needed care every day, and I saw first-hand how much of a difference a skilled and compassionate nurse could make in her quality of life. As I watched the nurses attend to my grandmother’s needs with kindness and expertise, I began to understand the importance of this profession. I started to realize the significance of this profession as I watched the nurses care for my grandmother with kindness and expertise.

My interest in nursing only grew as I got older. I began to volunteer in healthcare settings, which gave me the opportunity to witness the impact that nurses can have on the lives of their patients. Whether it was administering medication, providing emotional support, or simply offering a kind word, I saw how nurses could make a difference in even the most difficult situations.

Now, as I pursue my studies in biology, I am more committed than ever to my goal of becoming a nurse. I believe that nursing is a profession that requires not only technical skills but also a deep sense of compassion and empathy. I am eager to develop these qualities through my education and experiences, and I am excited for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through my work as a nurse.

This is why I chose to study at Capilano University in North Vancouver, Canada. The university’s commitment to social justice and sustainability, as well as its strong reputation for academic excellence, drew me in. Additionally, Canada is known for its high-quality healthcare system, which I believe will provide me with an excellent foundation for my future career in nursing.

Outside of school, I enjoy reading books that have nothing to do with my studies, such as motivational and fictional ones. I find that this helps me to stay motivated and inspired as I pursue my goals. I am also deeply interested in yoga. I have found that practicing yoga has helped me to develop a sense of inner calm and focus, which I believe will be valuable qualities as I pursue my career in nursing. I am particularly interested in how yoga can be used to support physical and mental health, and I hope to incorporate this knowledge into my future practice as a nurse. In the future, I hope to make a positive impact on the lives of others through my work as a nurse.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me and my goals. I look forward to sharing more about my journey with you through this e-portfolio.
