Since I was a little child I have always had the eager to know more about anything, I simply didn´t stop asking questions from a wide range of topics. Eventually, I have had a restless studying or/and working kind of life, so my friends and family are used to see me with a book in my hands, missing some gatherings because I had to do some assignment or leaving early from a party because I had to study. Let´s say that becoming a health care professional was not the easiest path to do: I have studied for seven years to become a dentist, after that four more years to become a maxillofacial surgeon, and then two more to become a Professor at the University of Buenos Aires. Consequently, I caught nobody´s attention when I said that I wanted to study something more… but this time is different.
I am enrolled in Arts and Entertainment Management Program and I think this is one of the wisest decisions I have ever made because it is a great opportunity for me to open up my mind to a completely new field which has always been a passion for me, the art world. Even though I have done many courses related to art (curationism, art history, how to improve creative collaborations in a teamwork, modern sculpture and artworks, production in art exhibitions, and fundraising in culture) all of them in very well recognized Univesities, I have found the opportunity to dig deeper into a new world and giving me the chance to probe myself I could do it. So this time I am not only changing the field of studies, but also I am moving to a new country with a foreign language.
I have chosen to study at Capilano University to let them teach me and help me with this transition, because I know its outstanding academic background and the emotional support they supply to every student, which nowadays means a lot to me. Hopefully, I will learn how to manage and develop an art exhibition at galleries or museums, and if I have to dream big …I would love to run my own gallery someday. I strongly believe that in the future I will be able to mix all these knowledge and use my contacts at the University of Buenos Aires and help them to get some art into the Faculties.
Besides the academic experience, I chose to move to Vancouver to improve my English and to do what I like the most….making new friends. I hope one day we could go to an art gallery, a film or a music festival and share some thoughts and artistic perspectives. I would also like to do some hicking and walking around into the forest, exploring new landscapes for me. Part of this enriching and exciting experience will be getting to know new places, but specially new friends with their own backgrounds, exchanging histories and experiences and learn from them too…because that is what life is for, for learning new things every day.
