He was never considered a productive or disciplined painter, and he often avoided the technique of fresco. His works were predominately portraits and religious subjects. He worked alongside notable artists like\u00a0 Raphael and was acquainted with Michaelangelo. I find this compelling because of the dominating and unbothered expression of someone holding a decapitated head. I love the realistic rolled-up blue and white silk sleeves. It is a great reference to study his painting technique for textures. I would use this painting as a guide to practice and emulate his methods for smooth and illuminated textures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/michellechau\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/11624\/2020\/10\/baby.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44\" width=\"229\" height=\"303\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Madonna with the Veil<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Date: 1525<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s something very calming and serene about this painting. The muted colors co-ordinate with soft expressions and transparent cloth. An interesting contrast which seems to represent these moods through colors. It appears the focal point is Mother Mary because the light is shining on her. The theme of Hope seems to dominate this painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"332\" height=\"217\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/2W2wkAGzRwT2q1cFFJrrVJT6gUagTeakc2AlCLa30IwSjOSfPznO-p8PwidUikgztT53qMbEz2DEBYeXJtxNudorGoIxT4jp6ulMILSk8WbeZeaffW4FqtyUv_mrjLthJh2s21ZB\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Death of Adonis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is mythological painting has a very interesting composition. The rule of thirds placement is unexpected. The subject and title suggest the dead body of Adonis to prevail in the painting, but he is rather in the distant background. However, the reactions and expression of the people in the foreground are more enticing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"314\" height=\"251\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/UUcJt8eRvpuo9hNrf63zjkanLjFuvJbfy5Cr4-pB4ynUGlH2EPm6AxNmeeEH94QijvmOKqwFSZU1In4GUDPYkn0K2Hyb-cbpevmnxRipY7QGDENc-MODPcT34nOUhDp-_-pJMjX_\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tod des Adonis<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Date: 1505<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This painting seems to be off the grid from his religious and mythological paintings.
