Franz Hals<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Franz Hals was a portraiture painter from the Netherlands during the Baroque period.\u00a0 Not a whole lot is known about Franz as he did not document any of his life.\u00a0 It is theorized that he was an apprentice of Carel Van Mander, though his work more closely was inspired by Jacob Jordaens who was a pupil of Peter Paul Rubens.\u00a0 Hals was different from other painters of his time as he was a very fast painter.\u00a0 He took to canvas immediately with bright colours and loose strokes that really captured the livelihood of the people he was painting.\u00a0 His famous painting \u201cCivic Guard of St. George at Harlem,\u201d shows a group of men at dinner.\u00a0 This painting is much more than just that as every character is engaged in conversation and action, the way he painted the piece brings it to life.\u00a0 I highly enjoy Franz Hals, I admire the way he captured movement and created excitement and in his work, making his artwork an experience, you can almost feel the energy and emotions from the characters in his paintings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
