For my yearbook spread, I wanted to translate a design something that reflected my personality as well as my artistic style. I chose to use go with a split page of half illustrative and half painted mediums since I love working in both these styles. My main concept/theme for this spread was centered around a bowl of noodles, or should I say nu-dles (Nu for Nuha).
I love to cook during my free time. I decided to make my spread almost like a chef’s profile with a signature recipe! My 5 traits were the 5 key ingredients, so on. I made it very colorful and included some of my favorite things to add some elements of interest. One of the elements I added was Harry Potter. I knew my spread would be incomplete without it, growing up Harry Potter had a real influence on my life. Reading the books and watching the movies had always broadened the amount of creativity I had!
I would give myself 8/10 on this project. I’m pleased with the outcome however, I do feel I could’ve scaled my content more to fit the page more, that way there wouldn’t be as much white space at the bottom. Now I know for next time to better plan my layout and sizing before transferring it onto the paper.
