Born in Sacramento, California in 1937, He invented the style that now defines the psychedelic era and peace movement of the 1960s. He made rock concert posters using high contrasting colour palettes and warped curvy lettering. Wilson began to create his own style using watercolours in order to create the figures.Onto that he would create lie and pattern to complement his lettering which was all hand done type. With his use of watercolours, he was able to achieve a stained-glass window look. He designed his famed psychedelic posters from February 1966 until May 1967. His style became pretty well known and started being replicated by many other artists.
