My Favourite Digital Marketing Resources

It is easy to feel like you understand social media marketing because you are an active user on many applications. However, as I start to explore more digital marketing strategies, there are certain experts that have educational and informative predictions of the digital world that I would never predict. Currently my favourite media company blog is Later Media. https://later.com/blog/ They provide amazing insights and tips to optimizing digital media.

How to Manage Working From Home

As the world predicts more months of social distancing and quarantine, employees globally are adapting to working from home. Working from home (WFH) can be an enticing idea, however it requires trust from all employees and can often be very stressful. As I personally navigate through working from home, I have adopted habits that help me stay motivated and relaxed.

5 Tips to destress and get sh** done

  1. Start your morning with exercise. It doesn’t have to be a huge workout or running a marathon, but a few movements will give you energy and endorphins.
  2. Get dressed. You don’t need to wear a suit and tie, but it often helps getting changed out of your sleep wear to feel like you are in routine and ready to start your day. This also helps when random zoom calls come up (Cue the rush to get out of pjs when the boss calls)
  3. Make a list- making a list every morning (either big or small) will help you stay focused. Plus is feels amazing and can relieve anxiety when you get to cross items off.
  4. Try to set a time when you need to finish by. It can be really easy to be constantly logged in when working from home. Some jobs require immediate response, but make sure you aren’t losing sleep due to the feeling of needing to be active 24/7. It can be stressful when you see a colleague answering emails at 10:45pm and feeling like you should be too. Remember, everyone is working different hours that work best for them when working from home.
  5. Hydrate and eat well and move every 20 min. This is a time where you can focus on nutrition and save yourself from the Whole Foods hot bar that you normally would hit up 5 days a week. Make sure you take your 30 min break to walk around, cook, and eat. This will help energy levels and ease stress and anxiety.

The Value of Working while completing a BBA

In most cases, students want to finish their degree as fast as possible. However, many students know that it can be very difficult to complete a BBA in four years while working. Although working while in school can get stressful and overwhelming, working while completing a BBA can be beneficial. I have worked in sales and marketing roles throughout the last 2 years of my BBA and have realized that not only retention of course information is high, but skills that are learnt in class often get applied instantly. My personal learning style is very hands on, and I believe that working and completing my degree gives me the best educational career regardless of how long it may take me to finish. I truly feel that I am getting the most of education and creating work experience that will help me advance in my careers.

  • Boozer
  • Designated Delivery
  • Dial a Bottle
  • Parcel Pal

Nude Beverages Media Research

I am currently starting a new position at Nude Beverages and have been finding new blogs and media influencers for each new location we are launching in. I have found it very interesting how search engines and location tagging will pull up appropriate page. It really shows the power of good SEO.

Tips to being found by companies easily through Instagram

  • Tag a location in every post
  • Use hashtags that are relevant to each post not your profile
  • Put your home location within your bio
  • Ensure you have organic engagement and avoid buying followers

Property Development

I am currently finishing up a job for a boutique developer, Creo North Shore Living. As I have my last few weeks with the company, we have developed a new website for phase two of their North Vancouver project, The Morrison. It has been extremely interesting watching renderings for developers and seeing a new website come to life.
