First Nations Animals Symbols
In Haida legend, beaver gives the salmon to the people, and national-wide in Canada including for the first nations, beaver can be considered as creative, artistic and determined. Beaver is also a national symbol appear on the 5 cents coin at least since 1930s (I have it back in my home in Vancouver)
The first nations in the three territories in the north usually call caribou survival. (there are tales in Asia about caribou doing some holy things too)
It is worth noting Frog is a symbol of prosperity, wealth and good luck in many Asian countries, too. In Tsimshian culture those three meanings are very exact three meanings, maybe we can research further the reasons behind that.
The symbol of courage, power and wisdom, the features are cherished; worth to note for Cree nation, each feature has different meaning.
Butterfly is considered a symbol of harmony by Haida nation, as well as leading the finding of treasure, food and luck; and in some way the symbol of treasure, food and luck.
