Before the course I viewed a scientist as a person who has expert knowledge in specific areas in regards to mathematiques and sciences. Through completing this course I now also see that a scientist can  be a person who carries out academic or scientific research.

When investigating a research question, applying a quantitative approach would be very useful for providing concrete, descriptive data; however, this data is limited due to the fact that there is an absence of data to explain how (or why) the data came to be in the first place.

As a researcher, I believe a quantitative approach would be a better fit for myself. As a sociable person, I think I would be able to enjoy studying characteristics, desires, and much more about people in a more tangible way, rather than immediately reducing them to statistics in a graph somewhere.

Throughout this course, I learned a lot of new techniques regarding research. Firstly, a learning point that I took away was the method for performing T-tests. Secondly, I have learned how to find significant differences in statistics through raw data. And thirdly, I have learned how to administer surveys and adapt the results into coherent data.
