My name is Sadra Khosravi and I am student enrolled in engineering diploma program at Capilano University. I started life in Tehran, Iran and when I was about 10 years old, my family and I decided to move to Dubai. I went to school in Dubai and graduated with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2017. I decided to apply for universities in Vancouver to continue my studies and finally got accepted in UBC Engineering Program. Although it wasn\u2019t easy, I completed my first year at UBC but because of all the unexpected international fees, I decided to change my school.<\/p>\n

\u00a0While I was going to school in Dubai, I worked part-time and full-time as an IT technician. Since I was 10 years old, I was always interested in computers and new technologies, therefore, I continued my passion and finally became a certified IT technician in 2016. I continued learning new things about technologies and finding new ways to help me gain more experience in IT. In 2015 I set out on a mission. I wanted to get into the digital world of internet and use it in a way to get an income from it. I was working in an environment with new boundaries, and lots of rules to break, giving me a platform to experiment and pave a direction. I had in front of me not a canvas or a workshop, but a user interface whose success hinged on how well my work was executed and if it made sense to the experience. I continued learning everything I could about website design and development and finally got my first project in 2016.<\/p>\n

In addition to IT, I was also passionate about music. I tried to get into the music industry by teaching myself how to produce beats, write lyrics, and mix and master a track. It was really frustrating at the beginning, but I managed to crack the code and went on from being an amateur producer to being a professional artist. I collaborated with many Persian rappers and produced their albums but because of school, I had to focus more on my studies rather than my passion.<\/p>\n
