What is WordPress? And whats the difference between its .org and .com?
WordPress is an open-source content management system used to create blogs and websites, it’s the most popular system mainly used for its simplicity and accessibility. It’s a way for everyday people to build their own websites without needing to know anything about programming. WordPress.org, “often called self-hosted WordPress, is the free, open-source WordPress software that you can install on your own web host to create a website that’s 100% your own.” It’s the more commonly used version because you have full control and ownership, for free. On the other hand, WordPress.com “is a for-profit, paid service that is powered by the WordPress.org software. It’s simple to use, but you lose much of the flexibility of the self-hosted WordPress.” While both are good options I would opt for the former mentioned. The reason for this is its ease of access and because its self hosted and therefore 100% my own.
