PAST

After graduating high school from West Point Grey Academy, I received a golf scholarship to the University of British Columbia. I spent five years at UBC doing my postsecondary education and got my bachelors degree in the environment and sustainability program. Throughout my undergraduate degree I worked as a security guard, environmental consultant and a bar manager/bartender. Having worked in multiple industries, I learned a variety of different skills and have lots of real life work experience.

PRESENT

After taking a year off post UBC, I currently attend Capilano University. I am enrolled in the two-year diploma program in tourism management. I currently work at Earls Yale town as the bar manager and a bartender. Skills I have gained from working in hospitality Im sure will be beneficial in the tourism sector; for example, customer service and creating bondable partner relationships. I have a busy schedule between work and school therefore, my organizational and time management skills are excellent. I also enjoy being physically active and play multiple sports such as, golf, snowboarding and soccer.

FUTURE

In the near future I see myself managing or running my own resort in the tourism sector. After graduating from Capilano, I hope to use this degree to work internationally at hotels or resorts catering primarily to the ski/snowboard industry. I hope to implement sustainable thinking and practices at resorts I end up working for. Global warming is a significant threat to our winters; I hope to reduce the negative environmental impacts of climate change.
