Interview Role Play:

Interview role play is one of those assignments that I had done in people management class as well. This assignment was really time-taking and it was hard to accomplish it because students had to do it as a group. The instructions for this assignment were that students were signed in to the group of two or three and then they were going to choose a job description from every kind of job post website. Students were supposed to write two situational questions, two behavioral questions, and one unstructured and then answer the question based on the job position that they selected. However, I selected the job description that I got hired into and I had known many things about that job. My teammate and I should check our questions and answer all the time because for this assignment the student had not to make it that much real and we can use many exaggerations, which made sense and teacher was not looking for that much reality from answers, but they should be related to each other. After making questions and answering the questions.

Last but not least, it was the time to record a video. My teammate and I had to act as interviewee and interviewer. In the first record, I acted as interviewer and asked the question that my teammate wrote about his position and job description and on the other hand, my teammate as an interviewee answered his questions. In the second record, my teammate acted as an interviewer and asked all my questions, and I had to answer them as an interviewee. When we recorded and edited two videos, I uploaded them onto youtube as unlisted and shared the link with my teacher.

My learning outcome:

From role play interviews assignment, I have learned how I should present and show up in interviews and it was a really great warm up for my future as well. I had learned what kinds of questions may the interviewer ask and what is their expectation. I have learned before every interview that I should have a brief knowledge about the position that the company is offering to answer each question based on that position.

Video application:

I had done the video application assignment in people management class “BADM 202”. A video application is like a resume where people provide a video version from their resume and instead of writing and preparing a resume on paper or documents, they try to record a video of themselves that explains their experiences, skills, and brief introduction. The first thing that individuals must care about is timing and the video application must only be for 4 to 5 minutes, but they should not go over all topics that they brings in their resume like availability or something like that in a video application and they had to make sure to talk briefly about those points that are related to job position. The instructor gave students some hints that were really helpful; for example, looking directly at the camera, not the screen and selecting a neutral background, paying attention to your body language, and making sure your video is clear and audible.

My outcome learning:

I found a video application more powerful than all other types of resumes because the person who hires a new employee can have a closer sense of our experiences and skills and more importantly can see our faces before the interview. Moreover, it is like that they can go over and watch a video again.

Ventura Proposal:

Venture proposal was one of those assignments that I have done in entrepreneurship class. Venture proposal is a written document that is created by a company. It is a micro concept of a business plan that people can sell or attract their services or goods in any case to potential investors and customers. However, a venture proposal shows great opportunities for growth, idea, perspective, and everything that you want to share with other people about your new business. Venture proposal has a page title, which includes the business name and logo and maybe the date or the contact information. Furthermore, the venture proposal has a business overview, marketing plan, operation plan, financial plan.

My learning outcome:

I provided a venture proposal for the business that did not exist and it was just an idea. By the way, it was a great first step for those who wanted to start a business because by a venture proposal, they could understand all expectations or all needs that are necessary to start a business.

Communication project:

I had done this assignment in leadership class. The instructor put students in a group in the beginning of the semester and we had to do this assignment as a group. The instructions of the assignment were like, each group received different cases. The topic of my team’s case was about immigration students and those problems that students might face in immigration process. However, members of the group were supposed to record the video and act as a counselor organization. We should find those problems and recommend the best ways to solve the problem. 

My outcome learning:

I have learned many great objects about immigration because im international student and i had faced many problem that case addressed and it was opportunity for me to focus to find solution for case and also my self, which they were related. However, it was a great assignment because the purpose of this assignment was that members were supposed to communicate to each other and recommend the best ways that can help students to solve their problems. Moreover, it was an absolute chance to practice presentation as well.
