Here are four pictures that define my community

I chose four of the most important pictures I had that represent my community in a way that shows off how we live, how we learn, and who we are. Enjoy!

This is a picture I took when I was still in grade 12. The clock you see is called the stream clock located in gas town and it’s very large in person. This represents my community by attracting different people to see its beauty of it. It allows us as a community to gather around and appreciate the old art, buildings, and statues still lying around the city. This piece of art is also a good history lesson to members who are not aware or knowledgeable of our town along with its history. Tourists and newcomers can get a sense of who we are as a community and what it means to us to have it located in such a populated area.
People tend to visit Stanley Park to have fun and take advantage of the great outdoors with their families. The Lions Gate Bridge and the sea hitting the beach to the right may both be seen in the background of this image. This massive park is ideal for people to properly explore Vancouver and engage in the activities and entertainment that Stanley Park has to offer. It depicts my community in a style that includes both land and the sea together with a clean, bright environment. For those who enjoy wildlife and the outdoors, being able to see the city from a distance like this is a pleasure. The ability to unwind with friends and family is almost like a breath of fresh air. Stanley Park displays a different aspect of Vancouver that many people do not experience or frequently see.
This is the Vancouver Art Museum, which serves as a gathering place for individuals to learn about new concepts and art. It is a great place for community events and gatherings. Children and adults might be motivated to participate in the numerous events that occur in our community through the Vancouver Museum. Members of our community could be well informed as a result of the lessons and educational history that they receive by visiting the museum. The majority of visitors are seeking knowledge and history, or are interested in learning about the cultural backgrounds of others. People can interact and be interested more easily when they are concerned with the culture and traditions of our people and our town’s history.
I chose this as my last image to represent my community because the building to the right is where my grandma lives with other elderly people. It’s a very simple and minimalistic image with not much going on, but it’s exactly what my community portrays. When you look at this picture, you see a few buildings, green trees, bushes, clean roads and sidewalks, and a beautiful blue sky. Again, nothing out of the ordinary is going on in this image, but I see it as the ideal place for people like my grandmother to live. It’s very peaceful, and the members of the neighbourhood are very caring and helpful. From the outside, it appears to be a typical neighborhood, but it is especially familiar to me since I grew up here and know the history behind it. There have been many events and gatherings held here that have brought a variety of people from different backgrounds together to share their experiences and cultures with the rest of the neighbourhood. This preserved these cultures within our community rather than abandoning and forgetting them.

What Does The Future Hold For My Community?

North Vancouver, British Columbia, is a beautiful city with nature and wildlife spreading everywhere you go and a community that you can fall back on and trust. But what does the future hold for North Vancouver, and what can we do as a community to make sure we head in the right direction to get there? Giving back to each other and providing for one another is one of the most important aspects of moving forward positively as a community. Falling back and trusting one another is linked to providing and giving back to one another; this means that every single member is supportive and caring enough to give back and take care of each other’s problems. My community in particular shares an area in which the people I trust and love surrounding me are feeling secure and safe, which is built off of communication and a set goal for the whole community. Communication is key to keeping our community stable and meaningful. I say “set goal” because every community needs a purpose that needs to be served. Something that will fill in the holes and the missing pieces will then create a well-oiled machine that runs smoothly, and as I expand on what the future holds for my community, I need to dive into what we can do right so we can expand and evolve as a community. First and foremost, get children the best education possible and place them in programs or classes that will prepare them to enter school, because what the future holds starts with the children, who will learn from our mistakes and grow. The next step is creating a safe and clean environment in which everyone can live peacefully. Our lifestyle and environment have an effect on children, elders, and people who are sick, so making our living space breathable and tolerable makes it easier to build together as a society. Continuing on, to become a successful community, we need to build more serviceable buildings and programs to help the ones most in need of our support and money. Using our money for more buildings, such as hospitals, fire departments, police stations, libraries, and computer labs, which help people who don’t have the money or resources at home, will allow them access to a variety of ways to learn and develop their minds to gain an education. One overlooked aspect is online groups, forums, and websites; these are for everyone to join and get together to connect. This serves a purpose and definitely will positively change our future because adding an online portion to the community welcomes everyone to speak their mind freely and discuss important or serious topics, whether it be changes to be made, small updates, or notices that get posted every week, or even giving advice, which is something small but may help someone very much. As I said, this will help bring everyone together and form a real family; even though Reddit is very similar to this, having a subreddit for a community and using it for the better will help us progress for the better. More examples could be leaving polls up for a decision or creating threads asking and answering questions our members might have. Lastly, I think one of the most important things to have are special programs for certain people, whether they are children, adults, the elderly, disabled, or sick people. To conclude, the future holds a place where the members living around me are safe and able to grow alongside each other using the different methods I’ve suggested. This can happen now, tomorrow, or next year, but in the end, we will make a change, and that change will help spread positivity and care to everyone, no matter who you are.
