{"id":1284,"date":"2018-04-13T15:50:54","date_gmt":"2018-04-13T15:50:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/?p=1284"},"modified":"2018-04-13T15:50:54","modified_gmt":"2018-04-13T15:50:54","slug":"comic-inspirations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/2018\/04\/13\/comic-inspirations\/","title":{"rendered":"Comic Inspirations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had taken a look at some examples in Drawn and Quarterly: 25 Years of Contemporary Cartooning, Comics and Graphic Novels.\u00a0 I looked at the range from more serious, realistic and funny cartoonish styles.\u00a0 I wanted to be in the middle but also be conceptual\/abstract as I tend to think that way too.\u00a0 I feel that this fits the story I chose with it&#8217;s mood and also I can play around with some more abstract image.<\/p>\n<p>The narrowed down examples I show have minimal colour and are subdued as I decided my comic be that or just black and white.\u00a0 Ive arranged the one below from realistic to abstract and my comic is more closer to the 3rd and 4th examples.\u00a0 As you see from my last characters blog, I sketched out the abstract style for the characters.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Jason Lutes &#8211; Jar of Fools.\u00a0 This is the most &#8220;realistic&#8221; I could go but I think the characters faces are too realistic.\u00a0 I like how the background scenes in this are sometimes depicted or sometimes just give an indication.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-1314\" src=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"573\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805.jpeg 2448w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805-945x1260.jpeg 945w, https:\/\/eportfolios.capilanou.ca\/sharleenramos\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/661\/2018\/04\/File_002-1-e1523632964805-600x800.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2.
