Just like that, another semester is over and in the books. I honestly can not believe that Liberal Studies 200 is already over. I learnt so much over these past few months and have gained so many skills that I can not wait to use. Before Liberal Studies 200, the only type of research I would do is reading academic articles. I would look at academic articles and base those findings on my papers and assignments. Throughout the semester I have learned the propers ways in conducting an interview, as well as, record my findings and using them in a paper.\u00a0 I have also learned how to complete a lit review and how to make proper observations. Lastly, I learned how to look at archives, study them, and use them when it comes to research.<\/p>\n
My own academic goal is to always learn and fuel my brain. I think this class did an exceptional job with that and really challenged me in ways that other classes have not. I have never had to look at archives, study them, and write an assignment based on them. I am so fortunate that I was able to learn this way. I find that so many of the classes that I have taken have strictly stuck to the traditional academic journal papers. So many of the assignments that we had this semester really challenged my thinking and understanding of what goes into conducting research.<\/p>\n
My overall academic goal is to become a teacher. One day I would love to be able to take what I learned in this class and teach it to my future class and students. I think it is really important to teach students in as many different ways as possible. That way it can help all types of students with different learning techniques and help them succeed. At a young age I want to teach my future students different ways in conducting research, even if it is as simple as conducting a basic interview with their parents about their family history. I think it is important to teach kinds in different ways to expand their minds and ways of thinking. That way they can take the information with them through their academic career and use it to the full potential. I am also looking forward to taking what I learned this semester and put the information towards my other classes. Without this class I would have never learnt in the ways that I did and gain so many new academic skills.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
