Giovanni Bellini was an Italian painter born in 1430 in Venice, Italy and died in 1516. His art was part of the Early Renaissance movement. Bellini’s interest of the Venetian artistic milieu was portrayed in his artworks. The first 20 years working in the field , Bellini’s work mainly connected the richness of religion and the worship from man, this can be seen in his paintings such as, The blood of the Redeemer <\/em>and The Agony in the Garden.<\/em> Over time, the artist gained an interest in the physical scene\/ setting in where he placed the subjects or the natural landscape of his work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work of Giovanni Bellini and his brother Gentile Bellini were considered as the beginning of the Venetian painting and the Venetian school. The artist was an educator to some of the major artists in history, including his pupils, Giorgione(Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco) and Titian(Tiziano Vecelli). Artists such as Paolo Veronese, Tintoretto and Jacopo Bassano were part of the Venetian School. The Venetian style had a large influence on the upcoming development of the style of Western painting. Bellini had made an impact on the Italian Renaissance painting that changed the history of art that we know today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
