Robert Venturi was an American architect born on June 25, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a very important architect, as he and his wife actually shaped the way architects, planners, and students, thought about and experienced architecture. He did his education at the Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania and graduated at the top of his class from Princeton University in 1947. His style of architecture is a change of pace from what we’re used to today. Many of his structures are asymmetric yet still keep its form. A good mixture of symmetry and asymmetry. His architecture also has unique designs on them. One of my personal favourite works from him is his duck house. This was just house in the shape of a really big duck and I find it marvelous. The back entrance to this house is actually, as you can expect, out the duck’s behind. Giant letters or shapes are also common with him.
