This principle relies on the brain filling in any gaps presented in an image. This is demonstrated in&nbsp; G.m.\u2019s illustration of a penguin, as despite it beginning to melt halfway down the page, the brain recognizes the silhouette of feet and is able to form the whole image of a penguin. This technique lets the penguin begin to blend with the background, creating an image where the penguin isn\u2019t \u201cwhole\u201d and complementing the theme of global warming. The dripping effect illustrated at the penguin\u2019s torso suggests a theme of melting, specifically the melting of the ice caps in Antarctica.
