High Renaissance & Mannerism:
Hans Holbein 1497-1543
Hans Holbein was a famous German artist and printmaker during this time period. He was very well known for his Northern Renaissance style portraitures, and designs for altar pieces, murals, and stained glass windows.
What had driven my interest in Hans Holbein were his portrait paintings. More specifically his choice of using solid coloured backgrounds in contrast to his foreground subjects. Holbein was known for the exceptional detail he brought upon his portraits. I find that this detail against his solid backgrounds brings a lot of interest into the faces he had painted.

Abi,
Interesting that Fouquet and Holbein are somewhat similar, especially when it comes to portraiture. Interesting choices. Be careful in your first sentence in Fouquet (repeated phrases) and possibly you could be a bit more in-depth with analysis.
That said well done.
