Hi, I’m Abigail Aries and I’m currently in the Bachelors of Visual Communications program at Capilano’s IDEA School of Design. Since I was a kid, I had always been surrounded by creativity through the shows I would tune into, to my friends and especially through my family. My mom was an arts & crafts teacher and currently an event decorator, my brother, a filmmaker and my little brother, an aspiring animator (my dad was an engineer haha). Even though I knew that creativity was something I wanted to nurture for the rest of my life, I was still unsure about what exactly I wanted to focus on, and if it would be worth it in the end. I explored and studied different design disciplines at several schools and programs, experimented many different arts through performing, music and drawing. All these experiences led me to this school and this program which I believe is exactly where I should be at this moment. I was always told that we are all meant for greatness in our own unique ways. If there is something you’re passionate about, and if there is somewhere you can grow with people that have the same passion, then dive in with an open mind!
