All About Me
For those I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Anthony Thucydides and this is my third year at Capilano University, located on the Musqueam, Squamish, Sechelt, and Tsleil-Waututh territories.
Truth be told, I cannot be summed up in a few words. But can any of us, though? I am a thoughtful, friendly, honest, hard-working, and resourceful young man who is trying to achieve his own goals. When I am not slaving away on academics, you will find me at the gym (my natural habitat), or on therapeutic hikes either downtown or in the wilderness. On some nights, I’ll be seen either binge-watching Netflix or hanging out with friends. As one of my hobbies, I take photos of landscapes when I come across a spectacular view, when I am camping, or just when I am generally outside. With reference to my backstory, I was actually born in London, England but my family and I moved here to Vancouver when I was only two years old (hence the fact that I don’t have an English accent).
Currently, I am enrolled in the ENGL 100-41 and the BENG 052 courses as part of the College University Preparation (CUP) Program. For the past two post-secondary years, I have been trying to upgrade the credits I need towards a major, as yet undecided. While doing so, I have been trying to figure out exactly what I want to study while keeping my mind open to various options. As of right now, my aim is to not only expand my literary and writing skills, but to prepare my work ethic to take on the demands of university courses leading towards a major.
With all this being said, I’d like to advance myself in the field of English. I’m hoping to choose a major in the Faculty of Communications or Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies once I feel prepared. There are far too many options of which occupation I see myself pursuing. However, currently, the two I’m thinking of is journalism and marketing since I am a sucker for researching current events and promoting products I believe in.
