Legendary Rosmarie

Rosmarie Tissi was born in Thayngen, Switzerland in 1937. She attended the Kunstgewerbeschule Zurich, or the Zurich School of Arts and Crafts and then pursued an apprenticeship with designer Siegfried Odermatt.

After working together for some time they would collectively open Tissi & Odermatt. A print and type focused studio for public uses.

She transitioned from a modernist attitude for typography to a more expressive approach. Letting layout, colour, and type become vehicles for innovation rather than iteration.
