My Story

Who I am

My name is Faith Abi Cenon Dawa and I am a 20 year old university student living in Vancouver, Canada.

Born in Abu Dhabi, UAE, I am proud to have traveled and grown up in various multicultural places as it has helped shape the set of beliefs and ideas that I hold as an aspiring early childhood educator. Together with the guidance of many amazing “teachers,”  I have acquired a passion for teaching, specifically young children as I believe that they hold the power to create change and recreate our future in many different ways.

Education and Work

Currently, I am in my fourth year at Capilano University, and by 2020, I aim to have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education.

I used to work at the Writing Center as an ePortfolio peer mentor at Capilano University where I get to be involved in and lead workshops that can greatly benefit me in my teaching, and at the same time help other students and faculty better understand the ePortfolio Project. I found that this was a great way for me to practice and exercise my teaching skills and strategies, as it required for me to improve on my communication and people skills.

A Little Progress Each Day Adds Up To Big Results

I now work at SFUCCS (Simon Fraser University ChildCare Society) as an Early Childhood Educator. I am ecstatic to be working and collaborating with different people, to be surrounded a plethora of experiences, knowledge, wisdom, guidance, support, etc.
