Rosmarie Tissi is a well-known graphic designer from Switzerland. She finished a four-year apprenticeship as a graphic designer with Siegfried Odermatt, a master of Swiss graphic design, after taking the basic course at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich. Her art has been published in the iconic magazine Neue Grafik since the inaugural issue in 1957 when she was still a student.

After ten years of working with Odermatt, she and her mentor founded the collaborative studio O&T (Odermatt & Tissi) in 1968, however they worked on their commissions individually. For clients in the cultural and public fields, the firm primarily focused on printed matter, posters, and custom typefaces.

Tissi transitioned from a Modern approach to utility and neutrality to a distinctive graphic language that shows her personality through dynamic layouts, bold colours, and type experiments throughout her career. Her best creations contribute an unusual and unique perspective to Swiss graphic design history.

Tissi has been a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) since 1974 and ADC (Art Directors Club) since 1992. She won several awards, including three Swiss Federal Scholarships for Applied Arts, the 1st Prize and Gold Medal at the 11th International Poster Biennal in Warsaw in 1986, and the 2nd Prize at the competition for the design of new Swiss banknotes in 1989.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, she has taught and lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design and Yale University, and she has served on juries for design contests in Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States.
