My name is Jancis Bautista and I am an aspiring musician, composer, and mentor. I am a student at Capilano University pursuing a degree in Jazz Studies. Music has been an essential part of my life; I grew up in a family of amateur musicians and I was one of the few to continue on a professional level. Music is, what I believe, metaphysical and it can affect our mental, physical and emotional ways of thinking. When I started piano and music lessons at the age of 10, I gained more sensitivity towards myself as well as others’ thoughts, feelings and actions; it has enhanced the colours of my life making me realize how powerful it is.
