Vogue in the 1930’s

I really like the idea of copying a Vogue cover. I found a website that has every Vogue cover that was ever published. I liked this one from June 1930. I loved the simplicity of it as well as the vintage car. I enjoyed researching about how heavily Vogue influenced society, specifically women, of this time. This time period is often romanized, being only ten years after the start of the roaring 20s. When it was actually a high pressure time for women, who had very little rights. I grew up in the world of social media where we have so many more different influences pressuring our lifestyles. I liked that I was able to make that connection.

I grew up surrounded by vintage fashion, as my mom is a fashion designer. She was my inspiration behind my photo shoot. I wanted it to look like the magazine is in a designers workspace. I found antique scissors, wooden spools of thread, lace, a string of preals, and set it up on my moms antique Singer sewing machine.

I spent about 3.5 to 4 hours working on the project (I think it has been my favourite so far), and I would give myself an 8/10.
