In this poster we see the use of the Gestalt principle pf proximity as many words have been put closely together to represent their relationship to the band and its music but also to form an entirely new shape. The symbol they form makes this poster all the more exciting because now the piece consists of two groups: the typography and the symbol. Because of the arrangement of the words in this symbol we can understand that there is a relationship between them.

This poster of one of my favourite movies, mid90’s, also uses the principle of proximity. The position of the boy sitting on the skateboard suggests a relationship simply because they are touching.

This poster shows the principle of proximity in a different way. Instead of everything within the piece being close and and showing a consistent relationship throughout, this poster has a little more story. Simply by using proximity this piece shows us that the five flowers on the left are in relationship while the wilting flower to the right is just far enough away to be considered on its own. This poster reflects the storyline of the movie through just one image.
