About Me

Hello, my name is Rithvik Paul. I grew up in the northern part of India where resources are limited and there are very few options to grow as a person. So I decided to explore some options and chose to study in Canada to pursue my goals and motives. I came to Canada at the age of eighteen to learn about various  North American businesses . I am a full time student at Capilano University majoring in Business Administration . In today’s dynamic world where technology is changing at a very fast rate , it has opened a lot of ways to start and operate businesses in any market in the world.  I want to achieve a sense of accomplishment in my life, that I have done something in life for myself and for society.

Why I chose business?

I came from a business background family and my dad is a successful businessman in the city. I chose to came here because I decided to start a business in Canada  by gathering resources and making some connections on my own. I want to start from the bottom and learn from those who are at the top. I believe in myself and I am a hardworking, positive and persistant person and I am a  thought-driven person rather than  emotional driven. I always try to make decisions with my brain and keep behind the emotions , this is my perpesctive to make rational decisions in life.

My Work Experience

I currently work at a comapny called Lowe’s Home Improvement. The store where I work is the only  store in Vancouver and I  was hired as a cashier but now I am a customer service associate.  Working as a customer service associate has taught me many things about the type of customers in Vancouver. What are their problems and how can I solve them .  It has improved my problem solving skills. Moreover  I have  learned a lot about management and how managers run such big corporate companies.  The store has a footflow of more than 5,000 people per week. Standing at the customer service desk  has given me a lot of confidence.  It has improved my communiction skills.  I have to make quick decisions.  Also, working there has taught me the proper code of conduct that one has to follow at a workplace.  An improtant lesson I have learned working at Lowes is that working hard is not enough , but you have to work smart if you want to become an effective and efficient person. Life is all based on making rational decisions and not letting things hold you back. Once you have made a decision it becomes about how you stick to it and how you respond to the outcomes. “Nobody’s life is ever all balanced. It’s a conscious decision to choose your priorities every day” Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

That was all about me. I hope you liked it.

Thank You.
