Mood Board Rationale

I have always been interested in the way humans lived thousands of years ago. Their culture, behavior and achievements are very fascinating and there’s a lot we can learn from it. I also wanted to see if there’s anything we have in common with them. That’s why I chose to do my mood board on three of the earliest civilizations in the world (The Harrapans, Sumerians, and Xia Dynasty). What I found most interesting is that all these civilizations share some common characteristics. For example, they were all interested in pottery, built massive structures, and made tools for agriculture. Perhaps their extensive agricultural system is the reason they all survived for so long. All of them were also very clever and made the best out of their limited resources. It made me realize just how adaptive humans have always been. Moreover, even though these civilizations emerged in different areas, all their accomplishments were similar. It shows that humans tend to think alike. Overall, there was a lot I learned about the emergence of civilization through this project. I would give myself a 8.5/10 because I researched thoroughly and tried to convey as much accurate detail as possible through the images. The only thing I had trouble with was finding high quality images as most of these civilizations are currently in ruins and there are very few pictures of them. I also had some trouble with creating engaging titles so I’d knock one point off for that. This project took me more than 8 hours to complete.
