Burton Kramer is a Canadian graphic designer who works in Toronto. He was born in 1932 in Newyork and studied at Yale University where he got a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design degree. He worked as an art director in several places before moving to Toronto in 1965. It was then that he started working on projects for Expo 67 in Montreal such as designing the pictograms for it as well as the map. However, he’s most well known for designing the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) logo as well as other signage, stationary and uniforms.  As you can see below, it draws on the principles of Swiss design. He designed many other logos and posters as well, continuing to draw on the Swiss design principles of asymmetrical layouts, geometric shapes and left aligned type. Burton also taught design and typography at the Ontario College of Art & Design and is part of the AGI association.
